LesPromInform journal and Infobio agency held conferences at Woodex 2013

On 27-28 November 2013, LesPromInform business journal held two conferences dedicated to the markets of OSB and new glued timber products. These events were part of the exhibition Woodex 2013.

Poyry specialist Alexey Beschastnov told about the Russian OSB market in the context of the global one; OSB mill projects were presented by DOK Kalevala, which started the production in Karelia this year, and ORIS company, which is just building a mill in Perm region.

On 28 November, a conference on innovative wood products was held, moderated by the Central Research Institute for building structures. The speakers shared their experience in the production of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and the use of LVL in construction. At the end of the forum, the delegates took part in the open meeting of the working group and discussed the norms and standards in the field of wooden structures.

On the first day of Woodex, Infobio agency with the support of LesPromInform held another conference dedicated to the market of biofuel (pellets, briquettes, and wood chips).

The head of the agency Olga Rakitova told about the export and Russian market of fuel briquettes, while Anton Ovsyanko from Portal-Engineering presented the technology of pellet torrefaction, which allows to reduce production and transportation costs and to maintain investment attractiveness of the project, even if the pellets are exported from the plant located in Siberia.

Woodex is the exhibition of equipment and technologies for woodworking held every two years in Crocus Expo complex in Moscow. This year the event took place on 26-29 November.
