LespromInform and WhatWood agency to hold a timber conference in St. Petersburg

The magazine “LesPromInform” and WhatWood timber industry analytics agency present the conference “Searching for growth points in the timber industry of Russia”.

• Russian sawn timber market: where to find sales channels? Further processing, industrial distribution, DIY stores. Wooden construction as a new trend in modern urban planning (city parks etc.);
• How to benefit from profitable ruble exchange rate for exports? Growing markets (MENA, China and South Korea) and steady expensive markets (Japan and Europe): economic survey, consumption segments;
• Will there be enough space for new factories in the wood-based panel market in Russia? How economic slow-down will influence the demand? Review of panel consumption segments. Export demand for birch plywood. New production capacities (planned and existing) of OSB, MDF, plywood and chipboard in Russia and the Custom Union (Belarus, Kazakhstan);
• Legislation: how has the program of national priority investment projects changed as the criteria have become more strict; electronic wood trade control system and its influence on wood trade;
• Where to find available raw materials in Russia? How much economically accessible wood is available in different regions?

After the presentations and debates, the speakers will answer all the questions of conference participants. The event program may be changed and edited. Your proposals are warmly welcome. Following the conference results, a resolution will be prepared. The organizers of the event will send the resolution to relevant committees of the federal government.
