Kazakh investor is planning to start producing OSB in Russia

Mega Smart, a producer of furniture from particleboard and MDF from Kazakhstan, intends to build an OSB production plant in Bashkortostan, Rustam Muratov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Bashkiria Government, declared. According to him, the new enterprise’s productivity will be around 231,000 m³ per year. The annual raw material consumption will reach 633,000 m³ of timber, with a capability of increasing the volume of timber (primarily softwood) reserved for the project to 1 million m³.

The project is supposed to be implemented by 2027. The tentative investment value is estimated at €100-120 million. A land area of 25 ha in Sibay is offered for construction.

In March 2022, a new legal entity is supposed to be incorporated within project implementation; the respective investment agreement should be signed in July.
