JSC Volga launched a waste paper line with the capacity of 500 t per day

Commissioning and startup operations are currently wrapping up at the new line producing MM-500 recycled pulp that serves as a raw material for the repurposed Paper-Making Machine 6, according to the press office of the Nizhny Novgorod mill.

Creating a new waste paper line (MM-500) is a part of the priority investment project implemented by JSC Volga to develop packaging papers production while increasing the production capacity of raw material recycling and improving the site’s energy efficiency. The core equipment was supplied by Andritz AG.

Notably, commissioning the repurposed Paper-Making Machine 6 with the capacity of 140,000 t per year means increasing the enterprise’s total capacity by 50%. Once the machine capabilities are fully engaged and additional raw material produced by the waste paper line is put to use, the company will be able to produce about 500,000 t per year. The repurposed Paper-Making Machine 6 will produce, among other things, testliner and fluting paper, including those with surface sizing.
