BelTA informs about this with reference to the Press Secretary of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange Roman Yaniv.

The largest share in the exchange turnover fell on the section of forest products, which since the beginning of the year made more than 11 thousand transactions in the amount of 361 million Belarusian rubles ( 1 Belarusian ruble = 30,67 Russian rubles at the rate of the Central Bank of Russia on 15.03.2019). Thus, the indicator of 2018 is exceeded by 63% in the number of transactions and twice in their amount.

Traditionally, the leaders of sales in the domestic market were round wood and services for timber harvesting and forestry activities, and in the external market – lumber and chips. Thus, the volume of sales of round timber to domestic woodworkers amounted to 119 million Belarusian rubles or plus 83% by January-February 2018.

Also, 2.3 times (up to 41 million Belarusian rubles) increased sales of services for logging, construction of forest roads and reforestation. The positive dynamics was also demonstrated by the number of transactions with paper products, which, adding 3% to the result of last year, amounted to 5.7 million Belarusian rubles. As for the export trading of timber products, the most popular group of goods were lumber, which provided 156 million Belarusian rubles of trade, which is 81% more than in the first two months of 2018. At the same time, the growth rate of chips and fresh waste increased 7.5 times (up to 28 million Belarusian rubles).
