In Belarus, the number of participants in the pilot project on the introduction of the electronic system of accounting of wood and transactions with it will be doubled
This year, the number of participants in the pilot project on the implementation of the electronic system of wood accounting and transactions with it is planned to double: it will be joined by one forestry Agency in each region. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus.
To date, the project is implemented on the basis of three forestries: Grodnensky, Uzdnensky, and Drogichinsky. During 2020, according to Maxim Zubko, the electronic system will cover all the forestry enterprises of the country, as well as other enterprises that organize the work on harvesting and removal, the sale of wood.
“In General, we have a lot of tasks for 2019, – says Maxim Zubko. – So, we plan to complete the development of the project software application necessary for the needs of regulatory authorities, which will be able to obtain timely information about the legality of the origin of forest products. The remaining elements of the program are ready, including for use with mobile devices. In parallel with the technical issues, we are working on adjusting the legislation.”
The project of the electronic wood accounting system is financed by the Investment Fund of the Ministry of forestry and under its control as a customer of this product. Its development is estimated at more than 1 million Belarusian rubles. Maxim Zubko is convinced that the introduction of information technologies will allow getting the maximum benefit from logging and timber sales. This will be possible by improving management and reducing labor costs, improving the accuracy and efficiency of accounting.
