In 2018 in Ukraine illegally cut down 17,7 thousand m3 of wood. Three years ago, the volume of illegal logging was 24.1 thousand m3 of wood

In 2018 in Ukraine illegally cut down 17,7 thousand m3 of wood. Compared with the previous three years, this figure has decreased. The information was reported by the press service of the state forest resources Agency of Ukraine in response to the request of the journalist UNN.

In 2018, 5.3 thousand cases of illegal logging were recorded. At the same time, the volume of illegal logging amounted to 17.7 thousand m3.

The volume of illegal logging decreased over the last year: in 2017, 26.1 thousand m3 of timber was illegally cut down and 7.1 thousand cases of illegal logging were recorded.

Illegal logging dramatically increased in 2015 – 24.1 thousand m3. At the same time, 6.6 thousand cases of illegal logging were recorded. In 2016, 27.7 thousand m3 were illegally cut down, 6.5 thousand cases of illegal logging were recorded.

The least in the last nine years illegally cut down in 2014 – 11.2 thousand m3.

The smallest number of cases of illegal logging recorded in 2018 – 5.3 thousand cases. And the largest in 2010 – 10.4 thousand cases.

If you compare 2018 the year 2010, the volume of illegal logging last year grew: in 2010 they amounted to 15.1 thousand m3, and in 2018 – 17.7 thousand m3.

The number of cases of illegal logging in 2018, on the contrary, decreased, as eight years ago, in 2010, it was 10.4 million, and in 2018-m – 5,3 thousand. The state Agency noted that the Agency is subordinated to 7.6 million hectares of forests, which is 73% of the total forest Fund of Ukraine.
