Import duty rate on plywood from unfriendly countries was increased to 50%

The Government of the Russian Federation introduced a 50% import duty rate on plywood from unfriendly countries, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development reports.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, implementing this measure will enhance the use of domestic timber for plywood production, thus contributing to the implementation of the task on further enhancement of value-added wood processing assigned by the Government of the Russian Federation. The utilization of domestic plywood production facilities is also expected to increase.
