Fully updated KDM-2 at Arkhangelsk PPM will be the largest and most modern cardboard machine in Russia
According to the press service of the Arkhangelsk PPM, from January 14, 2019 on the production of cardboard JSC “Arkhangelsk PPM” begins to stop the second cardboard machine (KDM-2) for the complete Assembly of all parts of the modular type of the new unit manufactured by Valmet Technologies Inc., completion of the electrification and automation of the machine, as well as the final commissioning.
Fully updated KDM-2 at Arkhangelsk PPM will be the largest and most modern cardboard machine in Russia. Its cutting width is 6.3 m, the working speed for the base weight of 125 g/m2 is 800 m/min, for grammages from 100 g/m2 and below-1000 m/min.
Installation of energy-efficient equipment Valmet will reduce the burden on the environment for water consumption and sanitation, energy consumption. Reduction of electricity consumption will be approximately 5%, consumption of industrial water – 12%.
KDM-2 will produce fluting and crafting. A product such as cardboard universal Uniliner, previously produced on this machine, will cease to be produced.
After a radical modernization, the unit will increase its productivity to almost 300 thousand tons per year (the growth of capacities for the carton of Arkhangelsk PPM will be 100 thousand tons per year or 20%).
The implementation of the second stage of the priority investment project of Arkhangelsk pulp and paper mill in the field of forest development “Reconstruction of cardboard production” will enable the company to produce container cardboard in the amount of more than 600 thousand tons per year.
Thus, JSC “Arkhangelsk PPM” will be able to offer both Russian and foreign markets the products of the updated KDM-2 with new characteristics – an expanded line of densities (from 80 to 280 g/m2), new quality indicators, with new opportunities for operational planning.
