Construction of $ 47 million Canadian CLT plant to start in summer 2021

In summer 2021, the Eco Development Group wants to start building a $ 47 million CLT plant at the Parry Sound Area Industrial Park to produce house kits for use in residential construction. Andrey Vovchenko, general manager at Eco Development Group, told Northern Ontario Business the company plans to introduce European technologies and building concepts that in order to modernize Canadian home design – which mostly uses wooden frames – and to elevate the construction quality.

By the end of the year the company wants to start with the panel production. At full capacity, Vovchenko estimates the plant will be able to produce one single-family house per day.
