Bereznik JSC completed the first stage of an investment project on building a plywood production site at the premises of Sokol Industrial Park. The enterprise was built in 3 years; the investment value exceeded 1 billion rubles. The first stage of the new plant will produce 44,000 m³ of plywood per year. The enterprise already employs 100 people. Plywood is supposed to be supplied to the domestic market and also exported to European, Near East and other countries.

The second stage is scheduled for implementation in early 2022.  There are plans to purchase the third peeling line, a drying kiln and a press. A dead-end railway siding will be built simultaneously. Upon completion of all stages of this investment project with the total value of over 3 billion rubles, the production capacity will reach 85,000 m³ of plywood per year, and the staff headcount will grow to 300 people.

Oleg Kuvshinnikov, Head of the Vologda Region, declared that they were planning to include this project in the list of priority investment projects in the forest sector. A request has already been submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and is now under consideration.
