In the Yaroslavl region “black loggers” caused damage to the forest Fund more than a million rubles
As reported in the Department of Forestry of the Yaroslavl region, ensuring control over compliance with the requirements of forest legislation is carried out by state forest inspectors together with public inspectors for environmental protection.
At first, 587 patrols were conducted in the region, the work is carried out in a constant mode.
So, in the course of patrolling of forest land located in the village of Knyazhevo Uglich district, the master of the forest found the road in a field that bordered the Forest Fund. The passage was a deep track laid by freight transport, so the forest patrol car could not pass there. Following the worn track on foot in the direction of the forest, the forest inspector heard the sound of working chainsaws, immediately reported this fact to the Director of forestry and called the police. On arrival of police officers on a forest site of GKU YAO “Uglich forestry” the fact of illegal cutting of forest plantings is revealed.
At the scene of the offense detained five people and three pieces of equipment: skidder, two timber trucks “KAMAZ”, as well as three chainsaws.
As a result of a violation of forest legislation damage to the forest Fund amounted to 1103 978 rubles. A criminal case was initiated under part 3 of article 260 of the criminal code “Illegal logging of forest plantations”, committed in a particularly large amount by a group of persons by prior agreement. The article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for up to 7 years and a large fine of up to 3 000 000 rubles. Currently, the criminal case is under investigation, the course of its investigation is under the control of the Prosecutor’s office of the Yaroslavl region.
