The Government of the Russian Federation established a Forest Sector Development Committee

The government committee will consider issues of state forest supervision, fire supervision in forests, fighting illegal timber circulation, forest protection from pests and other unfavorable factors, developing a close-cycle economy in the forest sector and guaranteed provision of the economy and the society with forest resources, improving forest sector profitability, as well as implementing exchange trading mechanisms for timber products.
