Conference on biomass to be held on 19 June in St. Petersburg

On June 19, 2014, the pavilion 6-2 in the exhibition complex Lenexpo, St. Petersburg, will host a conference “Energy from biomass: boiler-houses and thermal power station on biofuels, the production of pellets, briquettes, and biogas in Russia and the world” in the framework of the exhibition “Power industry and electrical engineering”. Among the discussed topics are: the production of biogas, financing biofuel projects, torrefaction of pellets, domestic biofuel market etc.

The General Director of Infobio agency Olga Rakitova will deliver a report “Pricing in the market of fuel pellets in Russia. World biofuels market: trends, buyers, sellers, traders”, Director of PelTrade Ltd (UK) Alexander Afanasiev will give a presentation “Trends in international trade of fuel pellets: opportunities in the UK and Russia”. Riho Maripuu of the Nordic Energy Partners (Estonia – Sweden) will talk on the competition and logistics in procurement of fuel pellets in Europe.

Sergey Perederiy, Director of Eko Holz und Pellethandel GmbH (Germany), will present a report “Start of a radical re-formatting of the biofuel market in Europe”, CEO of Faktor forest terminal Alexander Mahonko – “Issues of transportation and transshipment of pellets and briquettes in Russian ports”. Anton Orlov from St. Petersburg Forest University will make a presentation on the topic “Economic issues in the production of pellets: calculation of costs and investments”, Pöyry consultant Alexey Beschastnov will tell about the experience of shifting boiler houses to biofuel on the example of the Russian Far East.
