Yugra government evaluated forest roads construction in the region at €31.9 million

30 November 2012 ` 06:36

Khanty-Mansiysk, November 30. According to the draft project of social and economic development strategy of Yugra autonomous district, it is planned to invest 12.8 billion Rubles (€31.9 million) into all-season forest roads in the region on private-public partnership terms.

‘’This is not very cheerful news’’, says WhatWood’s analyst Igor Novoselov, ‘’Taking into account average cost of one kilometer of it – 4-5 million Rubles in challenging climate of Yugra, this will make 3,000 km. Forest roads density will be still too far from average in Russia. Moreover, until real steps are taken to make private-public partnership working on federal level, these investment plans will remain only on paper’’.
