Wood processing enterprises to pay tens of millions of rubles for the damage to the soils of the Krasnoyarsk region

26 August 2020 ` 18:16

Inspectors of the regional Ministry of Ecology and Rational Use of Natural Resources have checked the compliance of wood processing enterprises with environmental legislation. The auditors visited Boguchansky and Yemelyanovsky districts and inspected Medeo, Tigman, Zhunghesheng, ProfSibLes, and XiLin JV.

All five enterprises have no waste management permits. The waste had been stored at industrial sites with violations, and land plots were found to be contaminated.

Three enterprises will pay fines of about two million rubles. Two other companies are still under investigation. They may be imposed fines of one million rubles.

Besides that, the press office of the regional Krasnoyarsk Government reports today, on July 31, that all the enterprises will have to compensate for the damage caused to the soil, i.e. over 50 million rubles.
