This opinion was shared by Sofia Katkova, Project Manager at Morstroytekhnologiya, during the Arctic Forum Week on October 20 — 23, 2020 in Arkhangelsk. According to her, the wood pellets market is growing rapidly now. They are produced in two Russian areas — Krasnoyarsk and Arkhangelsk Regions. Wood pellet production is supposed to reach 8 million tons per year by 2025. Wood pellets are currently transported through Ust-Luga port, through capacities in the Arkhangelsk Region (Onega — Bakaritsa), Saint Petersburg (stations around the port), Latvia, ports in Kaliningrad and Nakhodka, and by road.
