The Government of the Russian Federation set temporary quotas for waste paper exports

The Government is introducing temporary quotas for the export of recyclable paper and cardboard (waste paper) that will apply from September 3 to December 3, 2022. The quota will be 30,000 tons. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation was instructed to distribute the quota volumes among exporters by August 31.

The decision is aimed at supporting domestic cardboard packaging producers that use waste paper as the main raw material for their products. Besides that, it will prevent a shortage of the said raw materials on the domestic market.
