Sistema JSFC acquires Sibirsky Les

As RBC reports, Sistema JSFC hopes to acquire Sibirsky Les LLC and BackHill LLC. The purchase is attributed to the plans of Segezha Group (part of Sistema JSFC) to build a new pulp and paper mill in the Krasnoyarsk region with a capacity of up to 1 million tons worth about $2 billion. If the deal goes through, the investment project may be included in the priority list.

Sibirsky Les is engaged in timber harvesting in the Krasnoyarsk region, BackHill LLC buys and sells real estate.

The amount of the proposed transaction is kept secret. A source of RBC informs that one of the leading international consultants estimated the assets of the companies at $40 million.
