Sheksna Wood-Based Panels Plant (a joint venture of VLP Group and Cherepovets Plywood and Furniture Plant) launched a new MDF production line, as reported by VLP’s press office. With the new line, the plant will be able to produce up to 380,000 m³ of wood-based panels per year and process about 600,000 m³ of chips made of low-grade timber. This production upgrading project involves ramping up the MDF production capacity to 170,000 m³ per year and increasing the share of Grade 1 boards to 98%.

By applying a Chinese technology, the plant will be able to produce MDF boards of various formats and thicknesses, including 2750×1830 mm boards from 3 to 30 mm thick.

Subsequent plans of the plant’s management include upgrading the second production line too, thus increasing the capacity further and expanding the range of products.
