New line of Ilim Group at its mill in Bratsk (Irkutsk region) produced its first volume of market pulp. This is the key stage of Big Bratsk project of the company. Within next six months, the line will reach its rated capacity.

“This is a milestone for our company and the whole Russian pulp and paper. One of the largest projects in the industry in 30 years is near completion. We created the most state-of-the-art production of softwood pulp in the world. This will further strengthen positions of the company on our core markets”, Ilim’s Chief Executive Paul Herbert said.

Investments into this project reached $800 million. Rated capacity of the new line will amount to 720,000 tonnes of bleached softwood market pulp per year. Overall volume of production in Bratsk will therefore reach one million tonnes. Most of the products will be exported to China.
