More than 126 million rubles it will be invested in reforestation in Kaluga region

As reported in Rosleskhoz, the main objective of the regional subprogram prepared and approved by the relevant Ministry in the Kaluga region is to ensure by 2024 the full reproduction of cut and dead forest resources. In order to achieve this indicator, over 126 million rubles are planned to be financed from the Federal budget for the next three years (43.2 million rubles for 2019, 41.5 million rubles for 2020, and 41.4 million rubles for 2021).

On January 18, 2019, the regional Ministry of natural resources and environment chaired by the head of the Department Varvara Antokhina held a meeting with the Directors of forestry on the results of the implementation of forest management plans in 2018 and tasks for 2019. Reforestation has been carried out on an area of more than four thousand hectares. More than twice exceeded the plan for forest pathology examination. It was emphasized that last year the number of bark beetle population decreased, new centers of its distribution do not appear for three years.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Federal project “Forest Conservation” in the region, which is implemented in accordance with the may decree of the President of the Russian Federation in the framework of the national project “Ecology”.

Varvara Antokhina drew attention to the fact that the forestry area is important tasks. Among the issues that need to be addressed urgently is the establishment of a forest crops insurance seed Fund and the expansion of the forest inspectors ‘ staff. The Minister instructed the heads of forestry to prepare proposals to improve the efficiency of this work.
