Lumber production in Russia fell 2.6% to 10.2m m3 in the first half of 2013

In the first half-year, lumber production in Russia declined by 2.6% year-on-year down to 10.2 million m3. Plywood production increased by 3.8% to 1.7 million m3, fibreboard production declined by 9.8% to 202 million nominal m2. Paper output fell by 5.7% to 2.2 million tonnes, while board production, on the contrary, grew by 2% on-year to 1.45 million tonnes. Logging volume in the first half-year fell by 4.2%, with softwood logs output declining by 4.4%, hardwood logs – by 2.2%.

In Ukraine, at the same time, particleboard production declined by 1.1% down to 697,000 nominal m3, while plywood output grew by 5.1% up to 86,900 nominal m3.
