On August 2, 2021, the Commercial Court of Bashkiria compelled Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan to sign a purchase and sale contract for lands in Kirillovo Selsovet, Ufimsky District, Bashkiria, with Kronospan Bashkortostan, as reported by RBC Ufa.

The area of the plot in Ufimsky industrial park where Kronospan production venue is located is 194.36 ha. In 2013, the company received these lands under a lease contract for 49 years. The value of the area was estimated at 133.8 billion rubles; it was calculated as the annual lease rate (13.38 million rubles) times 10.

Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan is going to appeal the court’s decision.

Kronospan had previously announced two investment projects in the territory of the Ufimsky District. The first one, valued at 6.2 billion rubles, involves restoration of OSB production facilities, which will increase the output from 475,000 to 700,000 m³ per year, including product made of low-quality wood. The second project for 6.8 billion rubles is about creating a new venue producing components for particleboard and OSB.

Company’s production venues may be included in the list of areas in Alga Special Economic Zone. This way, the new project will receive preferential treatment reserved for SEZ residents.
