Komi is planning to build plants to produce coal briquettes and charcoal
The letter of intent on implementing these investment projects was signed by Vladimir Uyba, Head of Komi; Artem Dragunov, a representative of Zelenets Industrial Park, and Edward Artemyev, CEO at National Biofuel Company. This is reported on the official web portal of Komi.
The projects are planned for implementation in the Syktyvdinsky District. The plants are supposed to reach their design capacity in 2026.
Zelenets Industrial Park is planning to build a plant to produce coal briquettes, investing upwards of 350 million rubles and creating at least 45 new jobs. Upon reaching the design capacity, the annual volume of coal briquettes production is supposed to reach 7,500 t.
National Biofuel Company intends to build a charcoal production plant, investing no less than 150 million rubles and creating at least 35 new jobs. Once the plant reaches its design capacity, it will be capable of producing upwards of 9,000 t of charcoal per year.
