Kastamonu maintain 100% certification of the Russian forest
The General Director of the company “Kastamonu” SEZ “Alabuga” Ali Kylych told about what measures the company uses to develop environmental directions, as well as what the main benefits the company receives after increasing the environmental friendliness of production and the product.
Already 35% of the Russian market for the production of MDF won the production of the plant “Kastamonu “in the SEZ” Alabuga”, which in terms of production of plates takes the sixth place in the world, and Europe – the fourth. Developing import substitution in our country, the Russian market laminate brand “Kastamonu” pushed Chinese products.
Like Kastamonu, foreign investors who have come to Russia to create new production facilities are interested in rapid growth. But due to the lack of an open business scheme, it is difficult to engage in development and be confident in the prospects.
According to Mr. Kylych, to be productive will help the gradual implementation of the plans within a specified time by the joint effort of business and government. It is necessary to start with loggers and certify 100% of forests that are processed by industry.
With the beginning of work in Russia “Kastamonu”, since 2010, the first thing with the support of forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan began to develop FSC certification and conduct joint certification of all forestry. Therefore, today the raw materials supplied to the company’s plant in Tatarstan are 100% certified. New suppliers from Udmurtia, Kirov and other regions are also asked to provide documentation confirming responsible forest management.
But even with the release of environmentally friendly products, the company was not insured against the actions of unscrupulous dealers. Four years ago, the “Rospotrebnadzor” asked the buyer who purchased the product under the brand “Kastamonu” and subsequently discovered its toxicity by smell. The buyer handed over the goods for examination, and after it confirmed the presence in the goods of high content of formaldehyde emission, which did not meet the standard requirements. After clarification of the circumstances it was found that one of the dealers “Kastamonu” offered goods from other manufacturers under a well-known brand. The reputation of the company “Kastamonu” was restored, but, according to Mr. Ali Kalyca should be at the Federal level to develop measures to protect manufacturers from such proceedings. And when buying products in chain stores such as” Leroy Merlin”,” Auchan ” should pay attention to the compliance of the goods with environmental safety requirements and whether it is confirmed by certificates.
In addition to the production of environmentally friendly products, Russian industries need to pay attention to the development of energy saving and waste-free production.
