In the 4 months of 2017, sales of Russian birch plywood to the USA increased by 5% to 115,000 m3
Sveza group has become the largest supplier of birch plywood from Russia to the USA with an 18% share, Woodbridge International Holdings is in the second place with a 13% share, Syktyvkarsky FZ is third with a 10% share.
In the 4 months of 2017, 26 plywood mills of Russia supplied their products to the USA market, a year earlier there were 29 such mills.
Along with this, a negative dynamics of export sales is observed. Sales fell in 6 of the 10 largest regions-consumers of the Russian plywood. The reduction of sales to Egypt (-13% to 91,000 m3), Germany (-15% to 67,500 m3), Latvia (-21% to 48,700 m3), Italy (-11% to 36,000 m3), Great Britain (-19% to 33,300 m3), Turkey (-49% to 23,200 m3) was observed.
The growth of sales was observed to Poland (+51% to 39,500 m3), Finland (+15% to 34,700 m3), Azerbaijan (+19% to 24,800 m3).
The total volume of sales from Russia in January–April 2017 decreased by 4% (YoY) to 813,000 m3. Sales to the domestic market increased by 16% to 452,300 m3.
