In January-September 2021, timber harvesting in Russia increased by 7.8 million m³

According to the state forest register, timber harvesting in Russia for 9 months 2021 increased by 6.5% YoY (7.8 million m³) to almost 128 million m³, Rosleskhoz reports.

The largest growth was observed in the Central and Northwestern Federal Districts. Timber harvesting in the Central Federal District for the reporting period amounted to 14.7 million m³, and in the Northwestern Federal District – almost 40 million m³. Most of it is harvested on leased plots.

In the Central Federal District, the most noticeable growth was shown by the Kostroma and Tver Regions, in the North-West Federal District – the Leningrad Region. and the Komi Republic.
