In 2018, the budget of the Republic from the enterprises of the forest complex of Karelia almost doubled tax revenues

According to the Ministry of natural resources of Karelia, in 2018 from the enterprises of the forest complex of Karelia almost doubled tax revenues to the consolidated budget of the Republic of Karelia, taxes amounted to more than 3.2 billion rubles, or 222.8 % to the level of 2017.

In 2018, the production of longitudinally sawn timber increased – 100.2% by 2017, paper – 110.7%, bags and paper bags – 115.2%, pulp – 110%.

There was an increase in timber harvesting, which amounted to 7.2 million cubic meters. Also in 2018, reforestation was carried out on an area of 21.2 thousand hectares, which amounted to 103.6 % of the plan, including artificial reforestation – on an area of 6.68 thousand hectares, promoting natural reforestation – on an area of 14.4 hectares.

However, last year there was a lack of maintenance by tenants. The figure is made only 35.7% of the annually installed in the allowable cut.
