Igirma lumber mill to reach rated capacity in 2013

Irkutsk region governor Sergei Yeroschenko visited Igirma sawmill on May 27 where priority investment project is being implemented. According to deputy CEO of the mill Viktor Mukorez, in 2013 Igirma mill is to reach full capacity. The company is also going to introduce further processing and waste-free production. Presently, the mill is already starting up waste-free technologies.

Igirma LDK belongs to Russkaya Lesnaya Gruppa (Russian Forest Group). Construction of a modern mill started in the autumn of 2006, on 8 December 2008 first products were made. The mill produces over 100 assortments of lumber and specializes in processing wide-dimension logs, from 22 to 50 cm. Company’s products are exported to Japan, China, Europe and CIS as well as on the domestic market. Log processing volume amounts to 700,000 m3, lumber production – to 350,000 m3.

Russkaya Lesnaya Gruppa owns logging and processing enterprises with over 2500 people working. The company produces lumber from larch and Angara pine and is the leading exporter of Russian lumber to Japan. Total log processing capacity of the group reaches 2.2 million m3 per year.
