Chita customs revealed illegal export to China of timber worth more than 211 million rubles

According to the press service of the Siberian customs administration, the Department of inquiry of the Chita customs opened 3 criminal cases on the facts of illegal movement across the border of the EAEU of strategically important goods and resources-sawn softwood (pine ordinary) against a Russian citizen, who is the head of a legal entity.

As a result of the control after the release of the goods, the counter-inspection of financial and economic activities, it was found that in the period from 2016 to the present, in pursuance of obligations under contracts with the Chinese company, he exported to China 32 320,835 cubic meters of lumber on documents containing inaccurate information about the origin of the goods. The cost of displaced lumber exceeded 211 million rubles.

On this fact, the Chita customs office instituted criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 226.1 of the criminal code, under investigation.
