Segezhsky PPM is working on import substitution of spare parts and components for process equipment that have been purchased in EU countries earlier, according to the Telegram channel of Segezha Group, the mill’s parent company.

One of the focus areas is replacement of so-called “machine clothing”—a vitally important element of paper web production. Since 2022, the enterprise from Karelia has conducted a series of practical experiments on optimal replacement of the “clothing” made by European producers, the message says.

According to Evgeny Batalov, Vice President and Head of Paper & Packaging Division at Segezha Group and CEO at Segezhsky PPM, the “machine clothing” is now supplied from China, South Korea, India, and South Africa.
