Timber trading volume at SPIMEX has exceeded 1 million m³ since the start of 2024

This performance is 34% better than over the same period last year in physical terms, 94% better in monetary terms, and 29% better by the number of signed contracts, as reported by the press office of the Saint-Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange on March 11, 2024.

More than 2,200 contracts worth a total of 1.66 billion rubles have been signed in the Timber and Construction Materials section since the start of 2024. There is a total of 3,469 trading participants, which is 4.2% more than in the same period of 2023.

“The improved performance in the Timber and Construction Materials section in 2024 is caused by continuous improvement of exchange mechanisms and active participation of institutions within the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and other state municipal institutions (forestry enterprises) in timber trading. Undoubtedly, this further enhances the SPIMEX’s role as a reliable venue for selling and buying timber industry products,” emphasized Alexey Ryzhikov, Senior Managing Director at SPIMEX.
