$10 million will be invested in the construction of a pellet plant in Buryatia
The government of Buryatia on June 14, 2019 the Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov and the General Director of Monpellet U. Ankhbileg signed an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of development of fuel and alternative energy.
As part of the implementation of the agreement in Buryatia, it is planned to launch a plant for the production of pellets with a capacity of 120 thousand tons per year. The main market is Mongolia, where since May 2019 the government has imposed a ban on the use of coal as fuel in the country’s capital Ulan Bator.
The main volume of lumber waste is concentrated in the Barguzinsky, Pribaikalsky, Zaigraevsky and Horinsky districts, where are located most of the points of reception and shipment of wood. Local pellet production facilities are located mainly in the Barguzinsky district.
“The Mongolian company invests $10 million in the production of pellets. We not only solve the issue of waste wood sawmilling, but also employment. Their production they put at the base of Talovskoe ZHBI in Pribaikalsky district. There the plant which was the city-forming enterprise was closed, and people remained without work. The plant is at least 50 jobs”, – Alexey Tsydenov said.
