The expected volume of wood harvesting in the Arkhangelsk region, according to the preliminary results of 2014, will be 11.5 million m3, which is slightly more than last year, said the head of the regional forestry at the Ministry of nature Galina Danilova. Among leaders in the logging growth dynamics are Ustyansky timber company (ULK) and Ilim Group, the latter also having the highest rate of annual allowable cut development.

Production of sawn timber will remain at the level of the previous year (1.5 million m3), although Lesozavod 25 and Ustyansky timber company will increase production. “The growth is restrained by problems at Solombala and Onega LDK mills. Their capacity load during the year ranged from 40% to 70%”, said Galina Danilova.
