By 2025, the gross output of the forest industry in China will increase by 50 %
This is stated in the Directive issued recently by the state forestry and steppe management of China.
According to the Chinese state news Agency “Xinhua”, by 2025 the volume of production of industrial forest products will reach 250 million tons, and the total volume of imports and exports of forest products is expected to reach 240 billion US dollars.
By 2035, the country will see further expansion of the industry with a better structure and sufficient reserves of high-quality forest resources.
To achieve these objectives, further efforts will be made to increase the supply of wood and to create new demonstration forest areas.
In addition to supporting the development of the forest economy, the office will also develop forest tourism while preserving natural resources.
The office stated that it would make maximum use of e-Commerce platforms to promote online and offline integration of forest products sales.
According to the office, in 2018, China’s timber industry reached 7.33 trillion yuan /about 1.1 trillion US dollars / an increase of 2.88 % in annual terms.
