RFP Group plans to build a second pellet plant with a capacity of about 70 thousand tons per year
In an interview of WhatWood agency with CEO of RFP Group Dmitry Valtfogel said, “currently, we are building the first wood pellet plant with the capacity of 100,000 tons of wood pellets per year. Upon completion of the second stage of construction, the output at the plant will reach 135,000 tons per year. Meanwhile, we are already working on a business plan for the construction of the second wood pellet plant. Its estimated capacity will be about 70,000 tons per year. The immediate tasks are the launch of the first plant and the structuring of financing for the second plant. When these tasks are solved, we will already substantively discuss the further development of the wood pellet direction of our business”.
In 2018, the sales volume of RFP Group holding amounted to more than $200 million.
According to WhatWood research, the unused raw material resource allows Russia to produce 9-10 million tons of pellets annually. The total capacity of all Russian pellet plants is 3.6 million tons of finished products per year, but the average load of the plants is 50%.
