Ukraine imposed a ban on the import of Russian plywood

15 May 2019 ` 14:00

According to Interfax, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has expanded the list of goods prohibited from being imported into the territory of Ukraine from the Russian Federation; various types of plywood have fallen into it.

This decision was approved at a government meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Glued plywood, veneered panels and other laminated wood materials were banned.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the import of plywood from Russia in 2018 is estimated at $ 19.7 million.

In addition, from August 1, 2019, additional duties are introduced on all goods imported into Ukraine from Russia. They will be charged regardless of other duties as a percentage of the customs value of the goods. The money will be sent to a special fund of the state budget, which will later finance import substitution measures, explained in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
