The investment will amount to 350 million euros. As a result of technical re-equipment, the paper machine No. 7 will be transformed into the production of high-quality Kraftliner based on natural fiber, as well as the paper machine No. 6 and the profiled sheet plant will be stopped.

Kraftliner used in the manufacture of high-strength packaging for food, fruits and vegetables, as well as packaging of goods for heavy duty. The annual capacity of the line is 450 thousand tons of craft liner. The start of the project is scheduled for the summer of 2019, where it is planned to involve about 200 contractors. After the technical transformation, wood consumption at the plant will increase by 0.5 million m3 to 2.4 million m3 per year. Raw materials will be purchased mainly from private forest owners in Northern Finland. Production of products to be sold for export on the converted machine will begin by the end of 2020.
