Segezha Group is gradually reducing export shipments of its sawn timber by water in packs

Sawn timber transportation by water in packs accounts for 80% of the total volume of the Group’s export shipments. Segezha Group plants also ship finished products in containers within multi-modal transport.

In H1 2020, Lesosibirsky LDK No.1 shipped 257,824 m³ of sawn timber in packs to export; Onega Sawmills, 63,494 m³; Segezha Sawmills, 4,410 m³.

Sawn timber from Lesosibirsk is sent to the west through Novorossiysk and Saint Petersburg ports; to the east, through Vladivostok / Nakhodka. The sawmill in Onega is shipping from Onega / Arkhangelsk ports; Segezha Sawmills, from Segezha / Lomonosov.

Whereas shipment by shiploads in packs is gradually decreasing due to switching to more cost-effective types of transport logistics. For instance, in H1 2020, Onega Sawmills shipped 15,000 m³ less sawn timber in packs than over the same period of the previous year. Segezha Sawmills, 16,000 m³ less YoY. Shipments in packs from Lesosibirsky LDK No.1 to China reduced by 3,500 m³ YoY.
