Pölkky Oy invests 30 million euros in the modernization of the sawmill in Kajaani

Pölkky Oy announced the start of a major investment program focused on increasing production capacity in Northern Finland, according to a press release from the company.

The investment program is carried out in accordance with the new strategy of the company. The cost of the first stage of the investment program is 30 million euros. In the first stage, Pölkky upgrade manufacturing technology at its sawmill located in Kajaani, allowing you to more effectively use high-quality raw materials in the region of Kajaani. Pölkky works in Kajaani in 2012. The company believes that the raw wood in this region is a good raw material for high-quality products.

Pölkky Oy is the largest private wood-processing company in Northern Finland. It annually handles 1.4 million m3 of timber (pine – 75%, spruce – 25%) at its plants in Kuusamo, Taivalkoski and Kajaani. The company also has a pressure impregnation plant in Oulu. The company’s turnover is 180 million euros.
