Investlesprom completed modernization at Sokolsky DOK worth €14.6 million

Russian timber industry holding Investlesprom has completed its investment project to build the further processing capacities at Sokolsky DOK in the Vologda region. Investments totalled at RUR 725 million (€14.6 million).

The technological chain was updated almost completely: there are two new drying complexes, a new plant for the production of glued wooden structures, and a modernized workshop for the production of planed and moulded products. The equipment for the project was delivered by companies from Germany, Denmark and Canada.

The volume of dry sawn timber production now amounts to 155 thousand m3, of glued timber – to 65 thousand m3, which includes about 75 thousand m2 of house kits.

Manufacturing of glued elements is certified according to the EN 14080 standard for Europe, to DIN separately for the German market, and to JAS 1052 for Japan. Voluntary certification by the Russian Ecomaterial standard allows the company to supply glued beams to Germany and other European countries (Greece, Finland, France, Italy), as well as to Japan.

Logging for the mill is performed via contractor organizations, the major being LPK Kipelovo (also belongs to Investlesprom).

Currently the holding is completing the implementation of another investment project which has received the priority status: construction of a large-format plywood line at Novovyatsky mill.
