In May 2020 Finland reduced timber harvesting by 14%

In May 2020, 3.5 million m³ of roundwood was harvested for use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was down 14% from the previous year and 4% above the ten-year May average.

Sawlogs accounted for 1.6 million m³ and pulpwood for 1.9 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal. Industrial roundwood removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were 2.8 million m³. Forest industry companies and the state harvested 0.7 million m³ of industrial roundwood from their forests
