In 2018, the volume of timber trading at the St. Petersburg international commodity exchange (SPIMEX) amounted to 1.388 million m3.
Of these, the section “Forest and building materials” sold round timber in the amount of 173,137 thousand m3 in the amount of 488 million rubles. the volume of timber sales amounted to 19,032 thousand m3 (136 million rubles), which is 12.8 times more than last year. On the electronic platform “Torg-i” sales amounted to 1,196 million m3 in the amount of 753 million rubles.
As noted by the President of SPIMEX Alexey Rybnikov, summing up the year and talking about the future objectives of the exchange, “SPIMEX today is a powerful holding that combines trading, clearing services, procurement services, and broad educational activity. These areas are implemented by the exchange on the basis of a high-tech universal it platform. Our priorities for the coming years are related to the consolidation and development of positions in the existing and new markets on the scale of the EAEU and in the main international markets“.
